Granary Arts at Skipton Castle
Creative Arts Courses & Workshops For Adults 2010-2011

Welcome to Granary Arts

2010-2011

You will find many exciting new workshops and courses in the following pages, all taking place in the historic setting of Skipton Castle.  Tuesday evening courses include the increasingly popular 'Life Drawing and Painting'.  Monday evening sees the introduction of istory courses:  'Singular Women' in the autumn, and 'Female Faces of the 20th century' and 'Creative Writing' in the Spring 2011.

Ruth Issett returns in September 2011 for another stimulating and inspiring three day course on textiles, embroidery and dyeing:  'Surfaces to Dye For'.  One day workshops include 'Drypoint', 'Block Printing', 'Patchwork', 'Poetry', and fine art including 'Portraiture' with Norman Long, one of the foremost figurative artists in the UK.

The 2010 annual exhibition of work by students will be held in the Granary on Saturday 18 September from 10.00 am - 5.00 pm and on Sunday 19 September from 12 noon - 4.00 pm.  Please contact me if you would like to attend the Preview on the evening of Friday 17 September.

A list of local hotels can be provided for those who want to combine a study day with a longer visit to the area, and a chance to explore this historica market town set on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire DAles.

I hope you find something of interest in the following pages and I look forward to welcoming you to the castle during the coming months.
